Health Awareness
When we are not feeling well or have a real health problem it’s hard to enjoy life and live it normally free from pain and suffering. A healthy body, mind, and spirit no matter what, everyone will agree give vitality, joy and exuberance to life and even more so allow one to grow and get on with the other things in life without the restriction ill-health imposes upon us when sick.
Health is one of the most important functions of life. There’s so many types of illnesses and disease and for people who are in one way, form, or another suffering from ill health have to face many challenging situations as a result, some even life-threatening.
We all find out sooner or later what it’s like to get sick. No human is exempt from it—that’s just a part of life, however there are many innocent people through no fault of their own who are sick and suffering badly and caught up in it—most common is illness and severe side-effects caused as a result of wars, or famine, or poverty and many viruses and other genetic imbalances that become known and take hold.
The effects of serious ill-health are often saddening and painful to see no matter what the age. For the person them self it can be a nightmarish time not only physically but also both emotionally and mentally. Things like anger, facing fears, loss of love and the will to be, quite often have to be faced when a life crisis occurs or when one has been told they have a terminal illness—the loss of the vitality and spark needed so much for life and enjoyment of it, can often send the soul into deep depression and dark nightmarish worlds where the sense of no escape and captivity keep the person forlorn and locked in their inner world. The worst is for some like small children suffering from a simple sickness of not having enough food and nutrition, their life and joi de-vivre is gone way too soon before they even get a chance to live it even a little bit.
The effects of serious ill-health can change a person’s whole life—it can make them feel restricted and helpless in life with nothing left for them in life to do or live for, they may question themselves—why them—why my life has no meaning—and even worse still there are those who never even get a chance to start life off, such as babies who are born with a life-threatening disease and only get to live for a matter of days, weeks or months at the most.
One of the great things about health awareness is there are many people across the world who are doing something about it in whatever way they can help as they are affected by what they see and experience, either through a close relationship with someone, or a family member, or a friend, or colleague, or simply in a less personal way through a cause or connection to the community or a channel of society in which they feel they can help the disadvantaged and give support in health awareness, and human disease and illness.
Health Research
There’s a lot being done in the research area of ill-health, which is the other area humanitarian aid programs focus on in raising health awareness and illness problems.
The costs of research into finding cures and developing new medicines are phenomenal, however as you probably know especially regarding the time and painstaking research and dedication put in, that there’s a lot of money being put into this sector by companies and groups who have a vested business interest and also for most a genuine aim to help in assisting giving humanitarian aid and service through their expertise and financial support.
Finding a cure for a major ill-health problem can be difficult and take a long time—hospital care, rehabilitation processes for those suffering from permanent disability or life-threatening diseases and adjustments all cost a small fortune, even so there’s a lot of research work being done with good results and breakthroughs being made that are well worth it with the result lives are being saved and headway is being made due to the research and humanitarian deeds of many dedicated and willing to help people.
There’s nothing more moving than to see tears of gratitude or smiles of joy with the influx of life well up when a person who has been suffering from a serious illness for a long time is told there’s a cure for them, or they have beaten the disease and the operation was a success, or the new medicine or cure means they shall be able to live a normal life like others and without the pain and suffering from simply not having the medicine, or care, or expertise available to help them beforehand.
Of all the humanitarian aid sectors the health sector is one of the biggest if not the biggest.
Things are being done to help raise awareness in saving lives where possible, ensuring hope, and relief, and care, and regard are being given and happening—all of which not only support many who seriously need healthcare and suffer from illness and life-threatening disease, but also renews the human spirit and gives a measure of faith and puts directly into the hands of humanity the responsibility and benefit of a better health awareness and consciousness.
