Trafficking
TRAFFICKING
Trafficking in all its different disguises is well known today and is fast becoming one of the main topics about human and animal exploitation and deprivation of life and the spirit of living. It is the third largest international crime industry behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking.
While there are a lot of human beings who are against trafficking unfortunately there are some who use that channel of goodwill and twist it to suit their own needs without regard and respect for the feelings and sad plight of those who get caught in their traps and end up the victims of those bad apples—it’s unfortunate and saddening and very much a show of human misery and abhorrent misuse of power and intelligence by those who condone and operate this sort of illegal business.
Trafficking is often misunderstood by both victims and those who run the underground network. It’s a tricky black market business built on deception and disillusionment—often based in past-cultural outdated conditionings, and behaviours, and customs, and greed—and painted up to look nice by the trimmings of enticements, and false offers, and promises to those who often seek to either escape a life of poverty, or be given security and work or an opportunity which means they can help support the family and get ahead in life.
Opportunity presents itself in many guises and life’s experiences teach us by right or wrong how to be wise from it and learn to navigate its perils. Its part of human nature and everyone’s right to desire and strive to seek a better life. In trafficking many are caught up in just trying to survive or at the most make a meagre living, with many of the victims the innocent young, or desperate, or at a difficult stage in their life going through changes from childhood to youth and young adult, or about to enter the work force for the first time and are vulnerable and don’t know the way, so are open to anything, or anyone that comes along and seemingly offers them or their family an opportunity that comes across as the ideal solution at the time.
It’s a very sad world when we see others caught up in a market that survives through exploiting the freedom, independence and self-worth of others and subsequently causing the vital values of human respect and decency to be squashed and taken away.
Everyone deserves wholesome being, health and just rewards from a life that nourishes and serves to make it worthwhile.
Trafficking is not easy to distinguish. For some of those involved in it’s a fine line between what is seen as fair and equal and what is seen as a business success and getting ahead and being well-off in life. The instigators of trafficking believe they’re helping the person to be better off, while a lot of the time it’s simply to get them to work in their industry for their own self gains so that they can make money no matter how it’s done.
Trafficking has its different departments—all in one way or another result in causing severe problems, deep—sad—and unhealthy problems—such as in the context of undermining human relationship values for example that are deprived of love and respect and show sadness in caring, and sharing and that remain buried in silence—problems for the victims of trafficking where they end up disillusioned with life, and suffer heartache and sorrow deep down within their very soul that can snowball and affect their family, and friends, and society if not checked and they are not helped before the deadly trafficking virus takes hold in the roots of their being.
Some of the areas of greatest concern are those to do with the trafficking in sex, cheap labour and unfair work conditions, and forced marriages, lifelong debt and bondage, organ and child trafficking, animal trafficking, and enforced servitude in one guise or another. The International Labour Organisation statistics claim there are 21 million victims of human trafficking globally with 68% of them trapped in forced labour—26 % of them are children and 55% are women and girls.
The good news is trafficking is being exposed and its issues are now being addressed and put out into the open, much more so society is able to see exactly what it is, and how to distinguish the real trafficking problems from those which are still regarded as trafficking but are more so simply cultural issues and lack of education and awareness—things which can be addressed and solved before any real damage and long term illness sets in as a result of serious trafficking getting a hold and taking the unaware, or vulnerable, or simply innocent away to be kept in darkness and the underworld and lost forever in the eyes of their family and loved ones and friends.
There is much being done by different charities, and groups, and companies, and individuals who are helping in one way or another to clean up this underground industry. Many problems are being addressed—as in creating better ways to work and make a living and be secure, but of course there is always the emotional, and psychological and spiritual scars left where solutions are still needed and need to be worked on for greater overall sense of wellness and health and benefit.
